No Weight Gain For Me This Christmas - How About You?

I had a weight problem - notice the word HAD.

As I write this in late October I am aware that there is just enough time (six weeks) if you follow my success formula to be totally in charge of your weight by Christmas. Yes you can go through Christmas without looking in horror in your mirror in January. More importantly the change will be permanent.

As a former nurse I should have taken a more sensible approach myself years ago

I was following fad weight loss diets that were increasingly the cause of my gradual weight gain.

I cringe with embarrassment as I remember one diet that consisted of nothing much more than fruit ? what was I thinking of? I am normally sane.

The real and most sinister problem associated with this cycle is that your body is adjusting your metabolic rate each time you go on a ?weight crash diet?. Less and less of your food intake is being burnt up. That?s as technical as I am going to get ? bottom line your body needs less food to maintain the same weight ? and we already know how hard it is to eat less food.

What a problem!

No Consent - No Hypnosis - No Rant

There is something that gets me going - well ranting really.

I'm a great fan of hypnosis and have seen simply amazing results where all other forms of medical intervention have failed.

BUT

Hypnosis gets a bad press and I blame, stage hypnotists, the TV programme 'Little Britain', religion.....

Now whoa! hang on a bit, aren't you going over the top Keith

Well I did say it was a rant.

Now - I am a Christian and a fellow Christian approached me recently admonishing me for writing about hypnotherapy. He clearly genuinely believes that hypnosis is evil and that I am straying from my faith by extolling its virtues. I don't remember or care what his exact argument was but words such as brainwashing, occult, subversive were liberally bandied about.

What garbage! Aaaagggh!

Why do people have fixed attitudes about subjects they have neither studied or experienced?

Even though I dismiss the guy as a bit of a crackpot I have to accept that he has got his perception somehow. His views are extreme but to a lesser extent many people have misconceptions about hypnotherapy.

Stage hypnotists have certainly not helped by making members of the audience seemingly go completely under their control - the odd clucking chicken here, or female impersonator there - hey! it's hilarious!

The truth is the stage participants have been carefully selected for their willingness to take part. They accept that they will be made to look a tad silly - they actually want to behave strangely - they are in it for the laugh.

As for one of my favourite TV series 'Little Britain' and "Look into my eyes", "Look into my eyes" - It simply can't happen that way. For those of you reading this outside the UK - this is a very funny, cult, camp programme which has taken the country by storm.

I quote Adam Eason a leading UK Hypnotherapist and Ecademy member, "Hey if I had that power I would walk into my Bank Manager and ask him for a million quid, which he would willingly hand over, even though I had told him I have no intention of paying it back". It simply can't be done.

Hypnosis works by consent.

If someone really wants to give up smoking then hypnosis is a fantastic solution as the subconscious can then be reprogrammed to think like a non-smoker. Effortless, quick, no cravings, works like a dream.

However:

It is no good buying a stop smoking CD for a friend or partner who doesn't really want to stop smoking. Even if they can be forced to listen to the session it will not succeed because the conscious mind will prevent the hypnosis working.

I have personally benefited from using hypnosis and see this as one of the most important therapies in this modern age. No drugs, no physical intervention - just words - and yet for a whole host of physical conditions such as psoriasis, migraines, through to unwanted behaviours, phobias, and mental conditions hypnosis works if the recipient wants it to.

That IS the point.

Hypnosis is by consent and can only work under those conditions.

Whoops! How long before this becomes a habit

As you can see by the dates of my postings I have failed to submit as per original plan. See earlier message. With my interest in the mind and hypnosis this as you can imagine fascinates me.

I have had enough time to say at least a few words daily and have thought about doing it - usually at an inconvenient moment such as when driving along. I guess as the use of mobile phones when driving is banned, writing blogs on a portable notepad is a complete no-no. Maybe I'll test the law some day.

The thing is that I have not got into any sort of routine about this blog writing.

I want this to be a habit. I think it will be a good habit to have and the discipline will hopefully improve my writing.

Which begs the question do you have to get into a routine in order to form a habit.

There is a purpose to all this. I would like to say something helpful and meaningful to people who want to make money on the Internet. I want to become a mentor to anyone that is serious about Internet business. If you are one of those people I need you to get to know me and my credentials.
